Open the door outward until it reaches the hinge system's stopping point. From there, raise the door vertically. The included gas shock assists during the upward movement.
You do not have to raise the door every time you enter or exit the car. The initial outward movement provides room for entry and exit before the door is lifted.

Installation requires mechanical experience, proper tools, safe door support, body-panel removal, clearance work, hinge adjustment and final door alignment. Follow the complete Camaro-specific instructions supplied with the kit.

Perform the body-panel removal and non-visible trimming specified for hinge-arm clearance.
Ensure the wiring has sufficient slack and clearance throughout the door's complete range of movement.

These reference marks help preserve the original horizontal and vertical door position during installation.
