2020-2027 Chevrolet Corvette C8 Stingray Vertical Door Kit Lambo Door

from $2,899.00

The 2020-2027 Chevrolet Corvette C8 Stingray already has the low, wide stance and mid-engine proportions of a modern American exotic. The Vertical Doors, Inc. conversion adds a door movement that looks right at home with the shape of the car.

Open each converted door outward to the hinge system's stopping point for entry or exit, then raise it vertically when you want the full effect. At a car show, meet, photo shoot, weekend drive, or everyday stop, doors up completely change the Corvette's parked presentation.

The vehicle-specific VDCCHEVYCORC820 system keeps the original Corvette door shells. You keep the doors Chevrolet built for the car while changing the way they open.

Your Corvette already stands out. Make the way you open the doors just as unforgettable.

VDCCHEVYCORC820 is designed for confirmed factory-body 2020-2027 Chevrolet Corvette C8 Stingray applications, including common Stingray trim and package configurations.

  • Stingray 1LT, 2LT and 3LT: Confirmed applications within the listed model-year range.

  • Z51-equipped Stingray: Confirmed within the listed model-year range.

  • 2022 C8.R Edition: Fits the street-legal 2022 Corvette Stingray IMSA GTLM Championship Edition, commonly called the C8.R or C8-R Edition. This does not refer to the Corvette C8.R competition race car.

  • 2023 Corvette 70th Anniversary Edition: Fits the Stingray 3LT version. The Z06 70th Anniversary Edition uses part number VDCCHEVYCORC823Z06.

  • One driver-side Vertical Doors, Inc. hinge assembly

  • One passenger-side Vertical Doors, Inc. hinge assembly

  • Two vehicle-specific gas shocks

  • Required mounting hardware

  • Vehicle-specific installation instructions

  • The conversion replaces the factory hinge system while retaining the original Corvette doors.

Open the door outward approximately 12 to 18 inches until it reaches the hinge system's stopping point. From there, raise the door vertically. The included gas shock assists with the weight of the door during the upward movement.

You do not have to raise the door every time you enter or exit the car. The initial outward movement provides room for entry and exit before the door is lifted.

  • Does Installation Require Modification?

Yes. This is a vehicle-specific bolt-on hinge conversion, but bolt-on does not mean modification-free.

Installation requires mechanical experience, proper tools, safe door support, body-panel removal, wiring clearance, hinge adjustment, and final door alignment.

    • The hinge system mounts at the factory hinge locations.

    • The original Corvette doors are retained.

    • Fender removal is required during installation.

    • A non-visible portion of the fender or inner-fender area must be trimmed to provide clearance for the hinge arm.

    • Wiring must have enough slack and clearance through the complete range of door movement.

    • Door alignment, hinge stops, gas-shock operation, latch engagement, wiring clearance, and surrounding panel gaps must be checked before the vehicle is returned to service.

Mark the Factory Door Position Before Removing the Original Hinges

Before loosening the original hinges, mark the factory position of the door. One useful method is to place painter's tape across the door and adjacent body at several reference points, then draw matching alignment marks across the tape.

These reference marks make it easier to compare the converted door position with the original factory alignment during installation.

If you are not comfortable with door alignment, fender removal, trimming, wiring clearance, or hinge adjustment, use an experienced installer.

Read the complete vehicle-specific installation instructions supplied with the kit before beginning installation.
